Do Doctors Self-Diagnose?

The hardest thing I have ever done is rebrand myself. I watch brands I've helped build soar, and then there's me, the stepchild at the table.

I'm asking because the hardest thing I've ever done is rebrand myself.

I sit here and watch brands I've helped build soar. Properly soar. Clear, confident, owning the sky. And then there's me. I feel like the stepchild at the table. Watching. Advising. Clapping. But somehow unable to do the same thing for myself.

I know all the guru talk. "How we're hardest on ourselves." "How proximity kills clarity." I know it all. That's not my problem.

My problem is simpler and more uncomfortable: I can't see myself as a client. At least not a good one. I'm one of those terrible clients. The ones who think they know too much. The ones who argue with the process. The ones who resist the very medicine they prescribe. God knows how much I struggle with people like that, and here I am, being one.

Honestly? I don't need more ideas. I don't need more knowledge. All I need to be 100x bigger than I am right now is an out-of-body brand strategy experience. Someone to pull me out of myself and show me what's actually there, the way I do for others every day.

Sometimes the hardest brand to fix is your own.
